The Kirtle or tunic is an very old garment. The model occurs in a wide variety. It was common both during the viking age and in medieval times. If you want a historically correct kirtle we recomend to go with wool.
The Kirtle has gores both under the sleeves and in the sides. It's designed to be about knee-length.
