Here is our instruction on how to erect a circular pavilion. The instruction is in many parts the same as when traveling a square, but a couple of things separate some. Please read both intrusions.

Placera paviljongen på en bra plats

Planning the site
The first thing to do is to review the site where the pavilion is to stand. Then decide which direction the pavilion should have and check if there are any obstacles in the way.

Lägg ut rep stolpar och tältspik rund om paviljongenLaying the roof
Lay out the roof covering so that it covers the area where you want your pavilion. around you put out wall posts, ropes and tent nails. Place at least one tent post in every "hole" Save some extra ropes and tent nails to use as stretch lines. If you have no extra ropes, you can use those that hold awning / canopy or from every other post around.

Lay out poles, ropes and nails all around so they are close at hand when traveling.

A fixed tent post
Now it's time to raise the first post. Choose the post that is most important, usually out towards the market street or the side you prioritize in terms of location, it is narrow backwards so this may be the one you choose first.
Knock down three tent nails; one in each direction of drag about 1-1.5 meters from the place where the first tent post comes. One tent nail tilted inward under the roof. Insert the tent post through the reinforced holes of the roof and place the post where you want your outer corner. Thread all three ropes over the top of the tent post and stretch so that it stands firm. All tent nails are cut down to about 50% in this position. When the pavilion is finished and checked, they are fully demolished. Often you get to move some nails that have ended up a bit oblique.

Second pole and opposite side
To get a reasonable hum about which direction the tent gets, it's time to put a pole next to the first. Then it's time to look up the opposite side to the first post. Aim along the seams of the tent roof and try to find about the opposite side. Knock down an extra rope in addition to the rope already attached. Knock down both nails and stretch the ceiling firmly. It does not have to be perfect, it is easy to adjust, but it is good if the direction becomes reasonable ..

The rest of the poles
Now that there is some tension in the fabric it is easy to continue with the ropes of the poles. Insert every two holes to begin with and try to stretch the sides so that they are decent. Aim along the seams of the roof as you set the rope, if the rope pulls in just right, the pavilion will be stretched down and more neatly set up. First put one on the right side and then one on the left, do not stretch so hard in the ropes yet, it can wait until the last. When you fill up with poles, you can remove the extra ropes you put in the beginning to hold the extra poles.

Assemble the center post
Make sure the holes "align" and that the round parts on the center post match. If they do not do that, you may need to turn the post so that the back holes come to the other joint guard. Push through the bolts and then turn the post. Tap easily and the bolts will pass through and you can tighten them with a wrench, you may need to hold the back bolt's skull with a key No. 18 so that it does not spin when you write on the nut.

Before it is time to put the cam in, you need to let go of the ropes holding the sides. Walk around the yard and release some of the tension on the ropes. Failure to do so will make traveling very difficult and difficult.

With a firm grip on the center post, one first gently insert the tip of the post into the reinforced hole in the cam. Then goes towards the middle and the roof rises. Then check that the center post is straight.

Rätade tältstolpar och markis uppsattChecking the ropes and stretching
It now becomes clearer if any of the ropes have gone wrong in relation to the roof and the tent's proper. Walk around the yard and pull on the rope buckles. Tighten the ropes on the opposite side, ie first at 12 then 6 o'clock then 3 o'clock and last at 9 o'clock. Then it is time to tighten the "clock" in between.

In this situation, you may need to move on some rope that ended up in the wrong direction. In order to get a nicely tense pavilion, the direction of the ropes is careful. Also, make sure the pillars and center pillar are straight.

When all posts are straight and the roof is nicely tensioned, it is possible to cut down all the tent-nails to 100% It is also nice to set up the awning / canopy.

Så här gör man en kedjesömThe walls
The last thing that needs to get in place is the walls. Start at the opening and work around the chain stitch until you are satisfied. If you want to stop somewhere and fold away the wall, you can end the chain stitch with a stick or knot.

Hantering av repen på din medeltida paviljongPacking
When you pack the tent, it goes as if you are traveling there. Here comes a quick guide * take off the walls * loosen something on the ropes holding the walls * Lift down the nook / top * Loosen the ropes around and and lift down the wall posts.

Something that we usually think a little extra about is how we handle the ropes when it's time to pack up. Tangled ropes at the next set are not fun. Stretch the ropes so that the rope tensioner is as close to the bottom knot as possible. Then fold the rope twice until it is quite short. Then you can make a small knot so that as few ropes as possible stand out and can mess up.
